I managed to get into the greenhouse, mostly before the heat hit, and attacked the jungle of weeds. It started to feel a bit like an oven so I had to quit (that happens around 30c!) before my second pass, but I got most of the offenders kicked out. I was pleased to see that the lettuce I’d planted weeks ago show up! I planted more and cannot WAIT for fresh lettuce. Man I hate the bitter store-bought stuff!
The tomatoes are mostly doing well, there’s a few that got blasted with freeze that are stunted but still coming along. The peppers, who are sandwiched between the Roma tomatoes and Cucumbers, have filed a formal protest with Mother Nature for hostile working conditions (too many cold nights). I feel like they have a case…
The cucumbers aren’t all that happy, either, but are still slowly growing…. we should have time still to get plenty to make lots of pickles with!
