Thanks Amy! I managed to thin the peas out into some bigger solo cups similar to yours.. Might try and throw some into some big grow bags I have on route.. plan to direct sow into some garden beds after last frost as well, but that's still so far away!

In reply to <a href="https://owlcreek.ca/greenhouse-expansion/#comment-4966">Domenic</a>.

Hello Domenic! Thank you for the kind words :) Being totally honest, I haven't had a chance to grow peas or beans since I was in Oregon, over 10 years ago, in a climate that allowed me to direct seed early in the season. Alberta has presented me with a lot of new experiences in so many ways.

I do know that legumes like peas and beans are quite sensitive to nitrogen so be careful with any fertilizer you use. I burned my first seedlings by laying fresh cut grass on them, oops! Roots like room to grow, so if you need to go to bigger pots before they can go outside, try not to disturb the roots as much as possible. Then lots of light and keep the soil moist afterwards. Best of luck to you! -Amy

Do you have any tips for peas? I started them only a wk ago in 2" dia. peat pots but they're already sprouted up and most are over 4" already! Keep up the good work and best of luck with your farm!
