Owl Creek Farm is owned by William and Amy Garrett, who are accompanied by Amy’s four kids, plus an opinionated Rottweiler, and 3 members of royalty (aka cats).

We started out as a 12 year old garden and recipe blog (Garden of Eatin’), and a 9 year old handmade soap company (Alberta Handmade Soap Co).

In 2017, we bought a quarter section (160 acres) and have been slowly – so slowly – turning it into a home and working farm. The bare land only had 70 acres of hay, a lot of muskeg (peat moss) and trees, with no infrastructure. Over 2 years, we added power, natural gas, a water well, and a septic system, and in 2019, our new modular home was delivered.

In January 2020, we finally settled on a farm name, and come spring (or whenever we thaw out), the real work begins. The home yard needs finished, and, if Mother Nature gives us a break with the rain this summer, we’ll be adding fencing and shelters and starting our goats and/or sheep, and chickens, plus building a greenhouse and garden area. We probably won’t get to plant much until 2021, with all that work, haying, regular jobs, and selling our skin care line at markets taking probably 200% of our time.
